ACCESS STATEMENT FOR WHITE ROSE, POLZEATH
INTRODUCTION
White Rose is a bungalow, built in the 1970’s, situated close to the beaches at Polzeath and Daymer Bay.
PRE-ARRIVAL
- Our website is found at www.whiterosecornwall.co.uk.
- Bookings may be made from the website via email, telephone or letter.
- All guests are provided with written directions to White Rose.
- The nearest station is Bodmin Parkway, some 17 miles from Polzeath. A taxi or a bus would be needed to complete the journey to White Rose. Buses operate between Polzeath and Wadebridge.
ARRIVAL AND CAR PARKING FACILITIES
- There is space for four cars in the drive immediately adjacent to the bungalow.
MAIN ENTRANCE
- The main entrance is via the kitchen which is adjacent to the drive.
KITCHEN
- A concrete step, 20 cm high, leads into the kitchen whose door is 80 cm wide and190 cm high, with the hinges on the right hand side. A door (72 cm wide and 190 cm high with hinges on the right hand side) on the right hand side as you enter the kitchen leads into the hall. The floor is covered in vinyl material
- There is a sink and work surface immediately on the left hand side of the door, height 92 cm and 60 cm deep. Under the work top is a dishwasher. Cleaning materials are kept under the sink.
- Moving clockwise, the next wall has a continuation of the work surface, with a cupboard up above containing such things as tea pots and water jugs. Beneath the work surface three drawers, the top one containing cutlery, the second various implements such as can openers, and the bottom one saucepans and frying pans.
- Next to the work surface and situated at the midpoint of the wall is an electric cooker with four rings, with a grill beneath and an oven under the grill.
- To the right of the cooker is a continuation of the work surface, under which is a cupboard with two shelves, the top one containing plates, bowls etc and the bottom one containing mainly ceramic type dishes. Above the work surface is a cupboard containing glasses. At the end of the work surface is a cupboard stretching from ceiling to floor with such items as a mop.
HALL
- The hall is 76 cm wide and 236 cm high. To the right is a door into the bathroom/toilet with hinges on the left hand side; straight ahead is a door with hinges on the right hand side leading into bedroom 1; to the left is a door with hinges on the left hand side leading into the sitting/dining room and, beyond it, a door with hinges on the left hand side leading into bedroom 2. All doors are 72 cm wide and 190 cm high. The hall floor is covered in vinyl material.
BATHROOM
- Immediately on the right hand side of the door is a cupboard containing a cylinder water tank. The switch is on the left hand side of the cupboard at a height of 130 cm. To the left of the cupboard are switches for an extractor fan and a wall mounted heater.
- Against the wall opposite the door is a toilet whose seat is 44 cm high.
- To the left of the toilet is a wash hand basin and next to it along the wall to the left as you enter the bathroom is a bath with a shower located at the door end. The shower switches are approximately 140 cm above the floor of the bath.
- The bathroom floor is made of ceramic tiles.
BEDROOM 1
- A double bed (200 cm long and 140 cm wide) rests against the wall opposite the door. There is a three-drawer chest of drawers on the left hand wall. A number of hooks to hang clothing are on the right hand wall.
- There is a light switch on the left as you enter the bedroom and a double power socket on the wall beyond the chest of drawers and immediately next to head of the bed. Reading lights are situated on both sides of the bed.
- A night store heater is located immediately to the right of the door.
BEDROOM 2
- Inside the door on the right hand wall is a four drawer chest of drawers, 130 cm high and 60 cm wide. Beyond the chest of drawers and resting against the right hand and far walls is a single bed (200 cm long and 42 cm wide).Alongside the bed is another single bed (200 cm long and 42 cm wide), the space between the beds being 70 cm. Between the beds is a cupboard, 28 cm high, with a reading light on top. Behind the cupboard is a double power socket.
- To the left of the second bed and located on the wall opposite the door is a wardrobe, 180 cm high and 120 cm wide.
- To the left of the wardrobe and under the window is a night store heater.
- A folding single bed is kept in the corner to the left of the night store heater.
SITTING ROOM
- On entering the sitting/dining room, a dining table ( 140 cm long, 80 cm wide and 76 cm high) with six chairs stands with its end touching the right hand wall. Beyond the table and resting against the far wall is a wooden cupboard ( 120 cm long, 60 cm wide and 110 cm high) with two drawers containing place mats. On top of the cupboard is a table lamp.
- On the far wall and to the left of the cupboard is a picture window with access to the garden. The access is a sliding door (90 cm wide) beyond which are two concrete steps ( each 20 cm high) leading to a concrete patio running the length of the back of the property. To the right having exited the sliding door is wooden decking which reaches out over the garden. A short slope leads from the patio down to the lawn beyond.
- To the left of the picture window is a night store heater and resting against the left hand wall is a pull-out two-seater sofa bed. A television/DVD player on a mobile trolley is located close to the night store heater.
- Along the wall to the left as you enter the room is an open fireplace with an electric ‘wood burner’ heater in front of it..
- There are three armchairs normally situated facing the television.
- Power for the electric heater comes from a double power socket just inside the door on the left hand side. A further double power socket is located just to the left of the picture window.
BEDROOM 3
- Bedroom 3 is accessed by going through the door (72 cm wide and 190 cm high with left hand hinges) situated at the far end of the sitting/dining room beyond the fireplace. A single bed ( 200 cm long and 80 cm wide) lies along the left hand wall. Alongside the bed head is a three-drawer cupboard ( 70 cm high, 40 cm wide and 40 cm deep).
- Along the right hand wall is a window and an access door to the outside. It has two concrete steps, each approximately 20 cm high, leading down to the side of the property. The door itself is 80 cm wide and 190 cm high, with the hinges on the right hand side.
- A double power socket is located half way along the left hand wall.
GARDEN
- The garden can be accessed three ways, either by going round either end of the property or through the sliding door in the sitting/dining room. The lawn is bordered by shrubs and hedges.
